We sing in order to feel happiness It doesn’t matter how worn one feels in one’s daily work, if you just get a few friends together, a guitar, and some drinks that will let one communicate with the ancestral spirits, we can then rely upon our memories and return to a beautiful scene: When we were little and the day’s work was through, the elders would get together, and braiding one melody after the other, plus the rhythms that grew from the rolling ages, they could sing all night, “hayan hayan ho hayan” all through the night When we sing we can forget our troubles, forget what wears us out; and our happy voices will bring joy to the earth, joy to our hearts. When you sing, I will harmonize; when I sing, you will move your body in dance, leaving far behind what troubles us. Life was meant for happiness!
